SAY NO TO JOB SEEKER’S ALLOWANCE WITH SJC

It is no secret that unemployment has become a huge issue up and down the UK. Whilst there is only a 4.9% rate for unemployment as of May 2016; this still equates to a number of people who are out of work and relying on financial handouts from the Government.

What is Job Seekers Allowance?
Those who are currently unemployed however are seeking work can claim a benefit called Job Seekers Allowance. If you have been in employment during your life and have paid towards National Insurance Contributions, then you will be given a non means tested amount on a weekly basis. However, if you have never been in employment then you will be paid an income based amount.
Job Seekers Allowance
A success story with a little help from SJC
Whilst JSA can be a helpful tool for a short period of time between two jobs. It shouldn’t replace the ability to earn your own money.
Take Sandra for example. Sandra had spent a long time working in a variety of different jobs; gaining all kinds of experience. Retail, catering even cleaning; she had a vast number of skills under her belt. Then the recession hit; Sandra lost her job and found herself struggling to find another job.
Realising that she needed to make money to support her family, she decided to apply for JSA with her local job centre. The money came in handy and despite looking, she found it hard to secure herself another job.
Not only this, but thanks to the handouts that she was receiving weekly, she also became slightly complacent with regards to finding herself a new career path.

This affected the way she felt about herself, leading her to feel down and having an impact on other aspects of her life.

Sandra then came across an advertisement for SJC. A website where she could quickly and easily find herself a job within a variety of events.
One evening she sat and applied for a job as an event co-ordinator; an ongoing role that would give her the chance to get back into the working world.

Sandra started quickly, found that she loved the work and best of all, didn’t have to rely on JSA any-more.

All thanks to SJC.
