HSE officer role based in Conway with immediate start!

This is a permanent role paying up to £22,000 per annum

My client is an international oil/gas testing laboratory, specialising in providing analytical services. They are currently looking to recruit a HSE Facility officer to join their team in Quality and project team.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the requirements of HSE system for the site to ensure compliance. This includes both internal and external parties
  • Coordinate site audit schedule for Conwy site to ensure that the LRQA 14001 accreditation risk is managed
  • Ensure that the LRQA ISO 14001 accreditation is maintained.
  • Raise HSE actions in lab ware as a result of accidents, incidents, near misses, environmental incidents and audit non-compliances.
  • Monitor the progress of investigations, actions and verifications; chase laboratory staff as required.
  • Keep HSE system up to date
  • To support the Quality & Projects Manager in overseeing implementation of Environmental initiatives in order to achieve our Environmental Objectives.
  • Ensure all audits are carried out as per the audit schedules, by trained auditors
  • Ensure all non-compliances are dealt with via the HSE system.
  • Alert management team of non-compliances as necessary
  • Carry out scheduled and ad hoc audits as required outside of the normal laboratory areas.
  • To observe safety regulations and attend mandatory fire, manual handling and other courses as required
  • Report all incidents and adverse events to managers and assist in the investigations of any incidents
  • To co-ordinate with internal parties the timely completion of Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments throughout the site.
  • To ensure that the equipment within area of work is maintained and operated as per SOP's

Requirements

Essential

  • BIFM Level 3 Diploma as a minimum, NEBOSH or equivalent
  • Experience of working in either health and safety, facilities or maintenance role
  • Desire to progress in Health and Safety career
  • Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and to strict time deadlines
  • Experience of working in a laboratory Environment
  • Familiarity with standard operating procedures within the laboratory and management systems (ISO17025, ISO14001) is essential to understand the requirements of the laboratory.
  • Database management and a strong IT skill set in Office systems

  • Experience in managing HSE systems.
  • Fork Lift License
