Driver - Gloucester

With over 46 branches across the UK and employing over 850 people, Hayley Group are proud to be considered the largest independent distributor of engineering products and consumables.

They are now looking for an enthusiastic and motivated full-time Driver, to join their Gloucester team.

Key Attributes required: To be enthusiastic, conscientious and possess a good work ethic and be able to operate effectively within a productive team. You will also have good communication skills while showing attention to detail. Have a commitment and passion for good "Customer care".

Working Hours: 40 hours Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm. Additional working hours may be required during busy periods

Purpose: To primarily transfer products between locations in and around the Gloucestershire area, including delivery to customer sites, handling collections and associated paperwork.

Main duties & responsibilities:

The efficient issue and receipt of stock and commodities.

To ensure the safety and security of all assets during transit.

To load/unload delivery vehicle safely & within recommended limits, observe safe driving practices (as outlined in the Company Driver's Handbook) and make timely deliveries to company & customer sites

To ensure that the Company's Health and Safety at work policy is adhered to in all respects.

To ensure safe use of all stores lifting and moving aids (including where appropriate Counter Balance Fork Lift Truck/Pallet Truck/Trolley) using Personal Protective Equipment provided where necessary

To accurately check items against picking notes, packing for cost-efficient dispatch

To actively participate in the response to emergency situations whenever they arise.

To undertake other similar or associated duties as may be assigned to you.

Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job

Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Specific requirements:

Clean and valid UK Driving Licence

Be of good character, reliable and responsible

Demonstrate a positive attitude to work, customers & colleagues

Good manual handling technique and dexterity

Developed communication skills to liaise with customers & build rapport

Problem solving skills, resourceful

Good local geographical knowledge

Calm disposition, courteous road user

High standard of personal presentation
