Maintenance Manager / High Speed Automation Environment

Location Purfleet

Salary up to 60k + Benefits

Hours Days

We are currently recruiting a maintenance manager to run a small team of engineers for a local manufacturing company.

Candidates must have previous experience of running a small team of engineers and be happy to work hands of if needed

Candidates must have experience on maintenance of manufacturing PLC controlled machinery

Job Description

* Manage the frontline engineering team within the complexities of a matrix structure to ensure that they provide a comprehensive breakdown, planned/preventative maintenance and continuous improvement service to support the overall achievement of operational goals and targets.

* To own and deliver the tactical engineering agenda, ensuring compliance to all internal processes and systems, exemplary levels of equipment husbandry and attention to detail for all aspects of the running of a busy manufacturing engineering department.

* Responsibility & ownership for developing and delivering a constantly evolving high quality engineering maintenance plan that drives performance improvement.

* Ensure the timely resolution of equipment failures and performance issues delivering follow through on incidents and issues with high quality root cause analysis and the elimination of recurrent issues on the line.

* To achieve site Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) in respect to equipment performance, reliability and breakdown, maintenance completion and, where applicable, devolved budgetary performance.

Promote and support the company quality & safety standards, focusing on continuous improvement whilst contributing to the companies 4C's strategy, and demonstrating the company values and behaviours

Candidate Requirements

Previous experience of working within a similar FMCG manufacturing / factory engineering department

* Strong PLC experience

* Strong interpersonal and developed communication skills (coaching & mentoring).

* Decisive, pro-active, self motivated and assertive

* Internal customer focus with the ability to adapt to the variable demands of the business

* Ability to demonstrate working under initiative and think things through to solution

* Ability to work under own supervision

* Ability to influence, persuade and lead at all levels of the business

* Happy to work hands on

Training/Qualifications

* Appropriate Technical Qualification level 3 is a minimum.

* Completion of a recognised Apprenticeship

* IT literate - Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Good analytical and numeric ability
