Job Description:

Opportunity for a multi-skilled maintenance technician to work for a well-established manufacturer who is part of a large global group of companies. The role is a new position brought about by the introduction of a new production line for the site.

You will work closely with the engineering manager and will initially focus on the maintenance of the new production area on-site with the likelihood being your role will evolve to having involvement across the whole site over time. The client is open to considering someone with either a mechanical or an electrical bias.

The role will involve initially working days Monday to Friday during the installation and setup of the new production line and subsequent training period. The expectation is that the role will move on to shifts early in 2021 initially working a 3 shift pattern (days, afternoons and nights) Monday to Friday before moving to a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12 hour days and nights) which will involve having 17 days off every 7 rotations of the shift pattern.

As the multi-skilled maintenance technician your duties will include:

Performing all required reactive maintenance on a shift by shift basis
Undertaking planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in-line with the set plan
Contributing to the delivery of a TPM system
Assisting in improving the reliability of production equipmentTo apply for the multi-skilled maintenance technician role, you will need:

Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
A time served apprenticeship (electrical or mechanical)
Experience of working with a PPM system
Experience and/or knowledge of a TPM system and Lean/CI tools is desirableIn return, the multi-skilled maintenance technician will receive a salary of £30,000-£35,000 (dependent on experience - including shift allowance) + pension, etc.
