Job Description:

The Role

This role provides direct support to the Director of Safety and Sustainability and is responsible for assuring CDM compliance across the West of Leeds footprint. The main purpose of the role will be to ensure compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 from design, construction through to handover. The role will monitor all duty holders and disciplines to ensure optimum legal compliance levels are achieved. Other key focus areas for this role are to ensure that the key Health and Safety deliverables are consistently integrated into the project teams throughout design, delivery and through the hand-back

Key Tasks

Support the update and development and implementation of Alliance wide CDM documents.
Compliance monitoring against the overarching CDM Strategy, Management Plans and CDM delivery model.
Audit and Assurance of key duty holders
Evidence gathering to support the compliance process and PMO deliverables
Alliance wide CDM Compliance
Integration of CDM deliverables into the Alliance Project teams
Conduct assurance activities against the High Level Principles for Health Safety and Wellbeing.
Safe by design data management, monitoring and dashboard reporting
CDM Performance Management
Support the implementation of Safety Leadership Team outputs
Support implementation and roll out of the behavioural based safety and cultural change programme
Support delivery of the Alliance behavioural based safety (Immersive Learning) and on boarding process.
Support RM3 Performance audits and action management
Investigation management
Roll out of initiatives and management of key initiatives
Ensure consistency is applied across the programme with respect to Health and Safety management
Supporting the delivery and development of training and initiatives to promote best practice in hazard and risk elimination

Experience required

Essential

Member of a relevant professional S&SD bodies with chartered status or working towards.
Relevant experience in a CDM Management role (at least 5 Years).
Evidential background experience of CDM management of major multi-disciplinary projects.
Extensive experience in the construction and rail industries.
Comprehensive knowledge of Health, Safety and environment legislation.
Detailed knowledge of NWR and industry standards.
Intricate knowledge of the principles of CDM management and how it applies across all duty holders.
Detailed knowledge of safe by design process
Excellent communication and influencing skillsDesirable

Knowledge of/experience in the UK railway industry.
Knowledge of/experience of Alliancing and working in collaborative environments

Salary
