Job Description:

Aston Services Group are currently looking to recruit a Security Supervisor to work a town centre shopping centre in Wigan.

Supervisors are our team leaders and have a pivotal role in leading, managing and co-ordinating the Security Team. Specific duties that they must perform are:

- They are responsible for the leadership and supervision of all Security Officers employed on their site and their professional standards and performance. This includes any additional Cover Officers deployed to the site for specific tasks.

- On taking over their shift they are to get a detailed briefing from the officers from whom they are taking over or who are already on duty. In particular they are to familiarise themselves with:

- Key security issues ongoing. (Handover sheet completed)

- The status of all physical and technical security capabilities (such as bollards, Access Control, CCTV, radio equipment, entry points etc) that might impact on the Team's ability to protect the Customer and their property.

- The DOB, which they must read and sign for the previous shifts activities.

- Physically check that all keys are present or their location confirmed (Handover and DOB signed to confirm)

- Familiarise themselves with any Permits to Work and Project works being carried out in the centre.

- The times displayed on any clocks, ensuring they are correct, and to conduct the synchronisation of watches for their shift.

- They must make sure their Team is effectively briefed, properly dressed and equipped and fit for duty.

- Tasks are to be allocated to all of the Team, and each person issued with their shift regime.

- Patrols are to be tasked and their progress checked via CCTV, radio and personal contact.

- All reported faults and instances of obstructions and fire hazards are to be reported using the DOB and personal contact with the onsite Management where possible. During each shift all outstanding Faults are to be checked and if not completed DOB entries are to be made along with fault report completion (EPS to be used where applicable)

- Paperwork is to be completed in full and on time.

- They are to physically walk the complex to check on individuals' performance, and check on the progress of any Permits and Projects, ensuring Officers are alert and aware of their duties.

- To check the DOB and Pocket Note Books are maintained correctly and comprehensively and any incidents have been dealt with, escalated where necessary, and recorded proper where required compose and transmit comprehensive and intelligible incident reports.

- Ensure that all Paperwork is completed correctly and in full

- With the assistance of the soft services manager and ASG operations manager, fully train new Security Officers to site requirements and standards. Oversee their training program if a new Officer is left on a one to one basis with any core-team Officer for specific training/shadowing.

-Complete and oversee Security rotas.

-1st Point of contact for Security holiday requests. Ensure holidays are covered prior to authorising.

-Handle Security wage queries, and if necessary liaise with SSM and ASG accounts department.

- Ongoing Security training including refresher training and tool box talks, on a 1 to 1 basis and teams.

- Security interviews, 1st point of contact, filtering unsuitable candidates.

- Security file notes.

- Security investigatory meetings with the support of your line manager.

- Security disciplinary meeting note taker.

- Respond to emergency call out situations.

- Security basic staff welfare during shift times

- Security uniform orders, new/replacements. (including PPE )

- Oversee and review Security equipment fault reports.

CLIENT BASED DUTIES

- Attend management meetings as and when required.

- Ensure Tenant/Unit information is kept confidential.

- Represent the Client during their absence at weekends, and assist SSM within this role.

- Complete Weekend Reports to assist line manager.

- Liaise with contractors on behalf of the client.

- Oversee set up of arranged weekend/midweek promotions/entertainment.

- Investigate structural damage to the Complex or reports of roof or window leaks.

- Assist in problem solving with Centre issues.

Ensure your Security Officers carry out the following duties as per the policies and processes on site:

* Fire panel monitoring.

* Intruder alarm monitoring.

* Access & regress.

* Key control.

* Telephone reception duties.

* D.O.B. entries.

* Incident reporting.

* Accident reporting.

* Unit fire panel testing.

* External & internal checks & patrols.

* Health & safety checks.

* Monthly Electric/water/gas readings.

* Fault reporting.

The site Security Supervisor in conjunction with the Soft Services Manager and ASG Operations Manager will ensure that all employees are provided with regular "refresher training" to ensure that the highest operating and management standards are maintained. The site Security Supervisor will ensure that training records are maintained for each member of staff.

* Escalate any issues to Aston Services Group Management, starting with the on-site Soft Services Manager and then to the ASG Operations manager. Escalate to the Operations Director if necessary in working hours. Out of hours contact should initially always be with the Soft Services manager and then escalation as per "working hours" contact.

* Carry out any instructions as directed by their Soft Services Manager, Centre Management, Operations Manager or Director.

Prior to handing over the shift the Security Supervisor is to:

* Debrief the off-going staff and check and sign the DOB.

* Ensure that all kit and equipment issued to the team is returned.

* Completion of a daily defects report. (If applicable)

* Check and Sign off Pocket Note Books

On-going Training

The site Security Supervisor in conjunction with the Soft Services Manager will ensure that all employees are provided with regular "refresher training" to ensure that the highest operating and management standards are maintained.
