Job Description:

A long-established business specialising in supplying temporary HGV's and LCV's nationwide with a strong reputation for excellent customer service. This year we are proud to celebrate our 20th year in business with ambitious plans to grow our business. As part of this expansion we have a brand-new role of managing the compliance & damage process between our suppliers and clients. This role will see an experienced HGV fleet engineer broaden their skillset to ultimately manage the end to end damage process with our suppliers and clients this will include:

· Meeting with our suppliers to review their Health and Safety processes including providing guidance and thereby improving supplier performance.

· Negotiating rates with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply to the business.

· Supporting associated operational & administration duties.

· There will be some travel involved

The successful candidate will require a good level of technical understanding and the ability to deal with suppliers and customers proactively. For that reason, we are looking for candidates that can demonstrate technical experience. This could be either a skilled technician or a workshop supervisor that wants to make the transition from workshop to an office-based position.

Successful candidates must have:

  • A working knowledge of HGV's (Heavy Goods Vehicles) and LCV's (Light Commercial Vehicles) including an understanding of parts costs and maintenance times.
  • A good understanding of vehicle mounted mechanical handling equipment
  • Knowledge level of IT including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Good Communication skills and proven negotiation skills.
  • Good attention to detail

You will be:

  • A team player that is also able to work unsupervised and possesses good time management skills.
  • Professional
  • Calm under pressure.

This role will be working as part of our team based in the Maylands Business park in Hemel Hempstead but there will be some travel involved when meeting our suppliers.
