Pay: £8.75 per hour

What does a station cleaner do?

· Clean and present trains for service in accordance with train presentation standards.

· Removal of internal graffiti.

· Undertake cleaning of biological hazards.

· Complete paperwork as required, detailing, and signing for all work carried out.

· Dispose of collected wet waste in accordance with local instructions.

· Work effectively as part of a team.

· Always ensure your personal safety and that of others.

· Always comply with all safety systems and responsibilities.

· Carry out on-board waste separation in accordance with local procedures.

· Develop a pro-active approach to safety issues.

· Report any accidents, assaults, or near-miss occurrences in accordance with local reporting procedures.

· Report any safety irregularities, faults, or unusual occurrences in the prescribed manner.

· Ensure all relevant PPE for tasks/activities is always worn and in accordance with local safety instructions/risk assessments.

· Dispose of waste in accordance with local instructions.

· Segregate hazardous waste from non-hazardous waste.

· Segregate recyclable materials.

· Dispose of bio-waste and sharps in accordance with local instructions.

· Report and clean up all spillages of oil/chemicals in accordance with local instructions.

· Report any environmental incidents to manager/supervisor.

· Examine all environmental procedures, notices, publications, and instructions.

· Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System.

· Carry out all work activities in accordance with local quality procedures.

· Examine all quality procedures, notices, publications, and instructions.

· Ensure that changing and mess room facilities are kept in a clean and tidy condition.

There are some hurdles of course….

· You must be able to get to your location of work for a 4 am start and the latest finish could be as late as 6 am. Most shifts are around 8 hours but there is an opportunity to work up to 12 hours!

· You will need to pass a Drugs and Alcohol Medical.

· You will need to pass a DBS

· You will need to provide valid Identification, work permit (if applicable), and proof of National Insurance.

· You must have previous exceptional customer service experience in a similar position.

· Must be flexible to work shifts times, earlies, lates, and weekends. You will be on a rota basis.

· Must be available immediately as these are temporary ongoing positions.
