Tony Alan Recruitment currently has an amazing new job opportunity for an Audit Manager to join a well known and growing accountancy practice in the just outside the Brighton area on a permanent basis.

You will have practical audit and accounts experience gained in Practice, be confident in a client-facing role, comfortable working under pressure and to deadlines and have experience in leading an audit team, whilst developing trainees.

This role will involve working closely with the partners, but also to take responsibility in the planning, implementation and review of a variety of audit work including statutory and voluntary audits, grant claim reporting and other compliance engagements, including companies, charities, pension schemes and societies. Your duties will include:

  • Managing and undertaking all aspects of audit engagements, including planning, performing, review and completion of audit files.
  • Maintain and develop audit compliance procedures and audit manuals to ensure constant improvement to audit quality and efficiency
  • Thinking strategically about the client's needs by understanding their business and key risks
  • Manage client and reporting deadlines
  • Management of audit financials including budgets
  • Delivering a high quality audit service
  • Remain informed about technical and regulatory accounting changes
  • Undertake non-audit financial statement preparation assignments, including the reviewing of accounts preparation and corporate tax computations
  • Mentor and develop audit staff
  • Participate in compliance and regulatory administration
  • Support on ad hoc assignments

Key Skills:

  • ACCA / ACA qualified (QBE by experience may be considered)
  • Minimum of 5 years Practice experience
  • Proven managerial experience
  • In-depth knowledge in primary accounting frameworks (UK GAAP, IFRS or equivalent) and Financial Reporting requirements
  • Confident leading audits and being alone on smaller audits
