Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that business applications are reliable, consistent, secured and properly managed from a governance perspective
  • Control the on-going business systems cost budget, clearly explaining any actual variances and recommend cost savings/reallocations
  • Introduce a structured and responsive approach
  • Participate in the development of IT strategy, strategic framework and business planning to aid the business in achieving its strategic objectives
  • Oversee the business system development programme and key IT processes/controls, including the delivery of projects
  • Responsible for delivering projects contained in the IT project portfolio on time, within budget and which meet strategic and business requirements
  • Closely cooperate with the IT Infrastructure team to ensure that the systems environment is properly supported and compatible with the IT infrastructure, including any future changes, and ensure they are aware of new systems projects during the planning stage
  • In conjunction with the Service Desk team, enhance the launch process for new projects ensuring business users receive high-quality tailored training, practical and accessible documentation and on-going support
  • Lead and manage the internal team and/or consultants by providing support, direction and guidance to ensure the function is adequately skilled, motivated, developed and correctly resourced to meet our business needs
  • Allocate responsibilities across the team to maximise productivity
  • Empower and motivate the team to deliver a high standard output, on well-defined objectives which directly progress the team's goals and broaden the skills of individual team members
  • Identify training/professional development needs for the team.

Profile

Key Experience:

  • Demonstrable communication, collaboration and people management skills Self-motivated and proactive with good organisational skills
  • Pragmatic person and highly focused on deliveries and process efficiency
  • Ability to work under pressure knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques
  • Proven team management skills, including motivation and development support
  • Track record of successful project management and delivery
  • Technical IT skill set finance, CRM & ERP systems knowledge
  • Adept at stakeholder management and 3rd party supplier development.
  • Ability to interface with business users at all levels
  • Handle all recruiting and hiring of upper and of IT business Systems personnel

Desirable:

  • Experience in the retail industry
  • Budgetary responsibility
  • Experience of financial systems from a user
  • Experience of Property Management Systems, finance systems, data warehousing, Analytics, Digital IT is highly desirable.

Education:

  • High-quality general education

  • Professional qualification - business, finance or IT

  • Prince 2 Certified Practitioner
