Job Description:

CISWO is a national charity whose mission is to improve the lives of individuals and communities facing disadvantage due to the impact of the coal mining industry.
CISWO operates a local day centre in Pontefract, for individuals from former mining communities. The Thornycroft Centre delivers a range of activities and interventions, alongside opportunities to socialise and a meal for our service users. Drivers transport our members to and from the facility by minibus. The Centre is open from 10am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.
We are currently recruiting for two Drivers at our Thornycroft Centre in Pontefract, to provide a safe, reliable and efficient transport service for the members of the Centre.
Responsibilities include: picking up and dropping off beneficiaries each day from their homes; arranging servicing, maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle; and driving to deliver meals to sheltered accommodation, load/unload the meals and helping to serve them.
Previous driving experience (for work) for this post is desirable but not essential. The successful applicant must have good communication skills, display excellent customer service skills and a caring disposition when dealing with people who may be older people or have a disability. Applicants should have a flexible approach to work, working supportively and co-operatively with colleagues at all times.
This role is for 25 hours per week and please note that the shift will be split. Typical driving time can start from 7am/8am in the morning and last for around two and a half hours to do a pick-up and 2pm - 4.30pm to do the drop off.
A DBS check will be required, plus a full, clean UK driving licence with a D1 category.
Benefits include a pension, generous holiday allowance and a health cash plan.
