Vertical Aerospace is an exciting new company that's looking to change how the public views and uses the aviation industry. Our mission is to make air travel personal, on-demand and carbon-free.

We're now looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join us on a six month contract that has the potential to extend, starting as soon as possible.

The Role

As a Health and Safety Officer, you will co-ordinate, support and advise the business on all aspects of Health and Safety.

You'll establish, manage and monitor standards and processes and identify training requirements to ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements.

Ensuring that a safe work environment is maintained, you will:

- Regularly review, update and communicate H&S policies
- Establish a structured H&S training programme
- Develop a full programme of documented H&S inspections, audits and checks
- Ensure risk assessments are completed for all work equipment and operations
- Chair H&S Committee meetings

About You

To join us as a Health and Safety Officer, you will need:

- Previous experience in a health and safety role
- Experience of formulating, implementing and revising health and safety policies and procedures
- Previous experience of providing advice to managers in-line with Health and Safety
- Strong IT skills
- A NEBOSH General Diploma or equivalent

Ideally, you'll have experience of delivering training to employees, but this isn't essential. Experience within the aerospace or automotive industries would also be an advantage, as would knowledge of ISO 18001 or ISO 14001 certifications. Previous COSHH, Working at Heights, or risk assessment training would be equally favourable.

We'd like to hear from you if you've worked as a H&S Manager, Health and Safety Manager, HSE Manager, H&S Compliance Manager, Senior Health and Safety Advisor or Senior H&S Co-ordinator.

The successful candidate will be required to provide proof that they have the right to work in the UK.
