With sites in Liverpool and Southampton, it is the UK's leading centre for sea level science, coastal and deep ocean research and technology development. Working closely with its partners and associates, it provides capability to meet needs across the UK marine science community.

About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic person to fill the role of a Security Guard at the NOC. The role will be based within the Estates team comprising of security, maintenance, operations and cleaning.

You will provide security of the physical assets of the Centre and ensure the safety and security of people within the NOC in accordance with defined procedures, including compliance with Health & Safety. Duties will include responding to security incidents, CCTV monitoring and enforcement of NOC vehicle parking regulations.

The starting salary for this position will be £21,120 (Band 9). Depending upon skills and experience, additional allowances may be available for exceptional candidates.

About you:
You will possess an SIA License (Door Supervisor preferred), have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a willingness to undertake training as required, have the flexibility to vary shift hours on occasions, able to cope with varying daily workloads and ability to understand Health & Safety requirements and Risk Assessments. You will have experience within the security industry in a customer-focused environment.

The NOC Security Room is a very busy environment; you will be monitoring several electronic monitoring systems and reporting on them, this is as well as booking in contractors, dealing with staff enquiries, processing found property and issuing keys.

Other information:
The post involves operating a rotating shift, averaging 48 hours per week providing 24-hour cover at the site.
