Their award-winning cruise port, one of the busiest in the UK, hosts some of the world's most prestigious cruise lines. Their portfolio is diverse, other successful businesses include a cargo terminal, award winning marina and several niche activities.

This is truly an exciting time to be part of our growing organisation. The Dover Western Docks Revival Project, the single biggest investment undertaken by the Port, will create a purpose-built cargo and logistics facility at the Port, which currently handles up to £122 billion of UK trade each year.

They have two Receptionist positions available, one working full time and the other to cover maternity leave.

The Receptionist Role
As part of a small team you will be responsible for providing a professional customer focussed image of the Port through the provision of reception, switchboard and helpdesk services.

Hours of work will be Monday - Friday 37.5 per week.

You will be required to:

  • Meet and greet staff and visitors to Harbour House professionally and courteously, ensuring that the Board's security procedures are adhered to
  • Be responsible for maintaining the appearance of the reception and visitor waiting area
  • Answer and direct switchboard calls promptly and professionally and where necessary assist the caller with their general enquiries
  • Support the team with the incoming and outgoing post and parcels
  • Ensure stationary stocks and other supplies are maintained
  • Be responsible for Meeting Room bookings at Harbour House
  • Deal with enquiries related to, and process bookings and payments for cruise car parking reservations
  • Provide general ad hoc administrative support as required

Requirements for the Receptionist Role

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English - Grade C or demonstrable competency
  • 2+ years previous experience within an office environment
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full clean driving licence and use of own vehicle
