Job Description:

Our Client
Our client is a leading Fit-Out & Building Contractor in the UK & Ireland. They specialise in high-end refurbishments and Fit-out projects up to £40 Million in Value.
Duties:
* Take an overview and leading role of Health & Safety for the contractor and the group as well as handling individual issues as they arise.
* Maintain a high standard of Health & Safety within the working environment as is practicable.
* Ensure compliance with Company Policy Statement.
* Carry out H&S induction training for all new employees and contractors as appropriate.
* Oversee all accident/incident and near miss investigations and implement corrective actions to reduce and mitigate overall accident/incident and near miss figures
* Carry out workstation assessments for every employee on a bi-annual basis.
* Carry out minimum yearly Risk Assessment Report for Fire Precaution Regulations.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all assessments.
* Organise training and supervise Fire Marshalls and First Aiders.
* Organise and supervise the training of all staff in fire safety both theory and practical.
* Ensure accurate publishing of all H&S details on company notice boards and Intranet.
* Plan, prepare and review relevant security policies, procedures and controls.
* Investigate and report on physical security events or breaches.
* Ensure that environmental policies are implemented and any environmental campaigns are effective.
* Monitor and report environmental performance and implement resources to reduce carbon footprint where possible
* Organisation of environmental awareness campaigns
* Liaison with counterparts within the company
A successful candidate will have:
* A Minimum of 2 years' experience as a H&S Officer within the Construction industry in the UK
* Understanding of health & safety law
* Understanding of hazard and risk
* Knowledge of environmental requirements both legal and best practise.
* NEBOSH general certificate
* First aid trained
