Westgate Healthcare is an award winning, family-run company with over 20 years of experience in running care homes for the elderly. Established in 1993, we have steadily grown and today we operate 8 care homes in London and the Home Counties (Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Essex). We also own a hotel in the north of England and plan to expand into the hospitality sector.

We are currently recruiting for a Receptionist / Office Administrator to join us at our newly re-furbished and modern Head Office in Borehamwood, Herts. You will be in charge of managing our reception area, taking calls, greeting visitors, arranging meetings, responding to queries in a professional and efficient manner, and overseeing the day to day administration within our Head Office. You will also provide administrative support to our HR, Operations and Finance teams.

We are a friendly and hard-working team and we are looking for someone positive, organised and pro-active. You should be confident to work independently and possess excellent communication and customer service skills.

WHAT'S ON OFFER

Location: Westgate Healthcare Head Office, Unit 3 Devonshire Business Park, Chester Road, Borehamwood, WD6 1NA

Jobtype: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm)

Salary: £18,000 to £20,000 per annum

Annual Leave: 25 days per year (pro rata), plus bank holidays

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO):

  • Provide a warm welcome to anyone visiting or telephoning Head Office and respond to any queries professionally and efficiently

  • Be responsible for security, appearance and general tidiness of the Reception Area, including notices, posters, brochures and maintaining plants, flowers, sweets, coffee machine etc

  • Ensure all visitors sign in/out of the visitor's book

  • Receive and check all orders and distribute to appropriate departments

  • Deal with telephone enquiries, transferring calls and take accurate written messages and pass on these messages in a timely manner

  • Give advice on all types of care and services offered by our Homes when needed

  • Manage the general administration at Head Office, such as by ordering stationary supplies, posting letters, organising meetings for the Senior Team and booking meeting rooms

  • Provide administrative support to the HR, Operations and Finance team

  • Carry out HR related administrative work as requested including scanning and filing, obtaining references, etc

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Right to live and work in the UK

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Be positive, pro-active and have a can-do attitude

  • Have a flexible approach and the ability to take initiative

  • Have the ability to meet deadlines and organise and prioritise workload, working independently

  • Have the ability to work competently with Microsoft packages to include Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
