Due to expansion, there is an exciting opportunity to join their multi-cultural team as a Field Engineer. Our client prides itself on providing extremely high levels of support within a very busy and demanding financial sector, primarily Hedge Funds and Private Equity Firms. THE SUMMARY:

As a Field Engineer you will provide on-site support for multiple clients, oftentimes visiting several central London based clients in one day. You will be exposed to and work with multiple technologies and environments, and are responsible for the support and maintenance of server, desktop, and network infrastructure for high profile financial services clients. This field support role based out of our clients' HQ in South West London.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support for desktop infrastructure and Servers
  • Implement new server and desktop technologies
  • Availability for out-of-hours support via an on-call rotation
  • Provide client-facing technical support, and communicate in a timely manner with clients per SLA and average response times
  • Update tickets with current and thorough information
  • Submit timesheets per the regional office requirements

THE EXPERIENCE:

  • Several years demonstrable 2nd/3rd line support experience in a similar role (experience with a MSP is a strong plus)
  • Financial services sector experience preferred
  • Proven detailed knowledge and experience with the following:
    • Microsoft Server, Active Directory & Microsoft Exchange technologies
    • Citrix XenApp and Xen Desktop
    • SAN
    • SQL
    • Firewall (Cisco ASA, IOS)
    • LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/P
    • Backup Solutions
  • Ability to:
    • Build / Configure / Manage Windows 2012, 2016, 2019 Servers
    • Build / Configure / Manage Exchange 2010, 2013, 2016
    • Configure / Manage Office 365
  • Desired Knowledge:
    • Network Topologies and complex routing
    • Mac OSX
    • Meraki WiFi and network devices
  • Desired Certifications:
    • Microsoft (MCITP, MCSE)
    • Cisco (CCNA, CCNP)

THE SKILLS:

  • Ability to work in high pressure environments individually and as part of a team
  • Clearly articulate technology, troubleshooting, and solutions to a variety of audiences, including technical and non-technical persons
  • Excellent spoken and written English
