Job Location: Poole, Dorset

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm & Friday 7.30am - 2.00pm

We have had a fantastic opportunity arise for a Materials Controller for a leading global manufacturer based in Poole who has a customer base within the Offshore, Onshore, Marine and Power Generation Markets.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global manufacturer working from there modern & highly prestigious site in Poole where the company are focused on continual development of products, services and professional development of staff.

Within this role you will be working as part of a team to ensure that the manufacturing areas have the right materials at the right time to undertake project builds. Not only will you be receiving goods into the company, inspecting them to ensure right quality and quantity, you will also be monitoring stock levels with the designated stores areas around the company and replenishing them as required. Part of your role will include the movement of stock and storage locations around the building as manufacturing projects requires.

Some of your key duties will include:

  • Material Movement, loading & unloading deliveries, moving, distributing and delivering materials across the business
  • Identify material requirements and store accordingly using the agreed bin location systems in and around the company
  • Prepare all materials and tooling for sub-contractor distribution
  • Undertaking daily forklift checks including checking lights, battery, fuel levels etc.
  • Building and re-stacking racking / shelving units as required for new projects
  • Complete all relevant paperwork / documentation and computer records for stock and equipment logs
  • Moving materials, loading and unloading deliveries using a forklift

The successful applicant will:

  • Experience of working in a engineering, manufacturing or production environment
  • Knowledge of managing and receiving materials, goods and stock into and out of the business
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Good computer skills for the logging of materials locations and usage
  • This position will require you to drive a forklift. Ideally if you have any experience of driving either a Counterbalance, Reach or Bendi, that would be desirable. (you do not need to hold current licences as the company will retest you to drive their equipment)
  • Willing to undertake any additional duties to help company achieve manufacturing targets.
