Location: Bristol

Salary: up to £45k (DOE) plus excellent company benefits

My Client is a leading international law firm, providing clients with commercially aware legal advice, whenever and wherever they need it. This highly recognised organisation operates in over 24 locations situated in key business and financial centres across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Due to growth an IT Security Analyst is now required to join the IT security team where you will be required to ensure the group is operating with effective technical IT security controls and measures in place. You will provide the operational IT Security capability, working with internal and external technical consultants across the whole spectrum of IT / Internet security, process & client compliance and governance.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • First line support & resolution of security issues reported through our monitoring tools and/or raised by users in areas such as internet access, virus/malware attacks & email.
  • Working with the security team to respond to client requests for security briefings in a timely manner and to provide similar guidance to the firm when requested.
  • Ownership and operation of the enterprise logging and SIEM tools to provide automated threat detection and behavioural analysis.
  • Working with the systems & development teams to ensure that a consistent approach to security is maintained across the department & dealing with any requests for DNS updates or SSL certificates that may be required in the day to day working of the firm.
  • Supporting the networks team to configure secure VPN services over the internet & diagnosing issues with networking routing and performance.
  • Provide threat intelligence of upcoming malware and attack threats.
  • Carry out physical and digital vulnerability assessments and provide remediation assistance to appropriate team.
  • Carry out internal forensic & External investigations with HR and Partners.
  • Work with project teams to provide security overview to new and existing projects
  • Provide user security training and work with the training team to create user training material.
  • Undertake IT Security Projects to maintain or select new or replacement tools for use within the environment

Person specification:

  • A broad understanding of technology, the Internet and how it all ties together, along with current and detailed understanding of the relevant issues in Security and Cyber Crime.
  • At least 1 years' experience in an operational IT security role.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft environment, active directory and Office 365.
  • Detailed knowledge of enterprise logging tools (Splunk!), Next-Generation firewalls (Palo Alto Networks) & diagnostic tools (traceroute, Wireshark etc.). Additional specific training will be provided if needed.
  • Experience of IT Security operations and admin.
  • Good networking skills e.g. understanding of different network topologies and architecture concepts.
  • Other requirements
  • Flexibility and ability/willingness to work out of hours, if required, in order to provide appropriate support or implement changes.
  • As a relatively small function, we rely on everyone to be flexible in applying their general expertise to other technology areas to support other parts of the IT team or wider business.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional international travel, if required to support business needs.
