How To Apply For A Door License Supervisor

If you are looking to work in Door Supervision then you will need an SIA License.  It is a criminal offence to operate in Door Supervision without this license unless your employer is exempt under the Section 4(4) of the Private Security Industry Act 2001.

Here is our concise step by step guide to applying for and obtaining an SIA License.

Criminal Records Check.
You will need to undergo a Criminal Records check. This will ascertain any Criminal Records that you may have. Should you have a Criminal Record then it does not necessarily mean that you will not be able to obtain an SIA License. Each application is judged on its own merit and unique circumstances.

Qualifications Check
This is to assess any training or qualifications that you may hold or have undertaken to assist with the role that you are applying for an SIA license for.

Other Checks
Your age, address and identity check, along with potential further training checks, mental health state and your right to work status.

Required Documents
You will need the following documentation:

A good quality photograph – to cross reference with your passport or driving license photograph
Overseas Criminal Record Checks – if you have lived or worked outside of the UK for more than 6 months.

Apply For The License
You can apply personally for the license or via your Employer.
