Category Manager - Construction

Heart of London - £35k - £45k + Excellent Package

My client is a multi-award winning construction firm that has been at the forefront of the construction and infrastructure industry for many years. With plans to build and develop awe-inspiring buildings/stadia and working closely with the government on high-profile infrastructure projects, they plan to grow further across the UK and Europe.

With a group spend that is set to surpass £600m, they are adding to their London-based procurement team to join their flagship projects for the coming 2 years. The aim is for the succesful candidate to progress quickly internally to take the lead on future flagship projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in implementing and completing projects in construction, engineering and infrastructure in London and around the UK
  • Be an integral part of the tender process - source, negotiate, and create relationships with suppliers
  • Manage stakeholder relationships - ensuring a positive working relationship is in place

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong background working on end to end procurement projects in construction and infrastructure
  • Proven track record of managing a large spend and delivering savings on budgets
  • A strong negotiator with the ability to influence decisions in your favour
  • Excellent communication skills with past experience of managing supplier and stakeholder relationships
  • OJEU
  • CIPS
