Job Description:

Greenhill are delighted to be working with a leading UK Book Retailer to find a Sales & Marketing Director to work as part of the current leadership team. This role will focus on profitable sales growth through strategic planning and implementation of the sales & marketing strategy.

Reporting into the Chief Executive, this board level position has full strategic responsibilities, including brand development, sales, marketing, PR and commercial partnerships. You will have a strong leadership background managing senior individuals as well as large teams. A solid understanding of digital marketing and eCommerce would be very relevant to this role.

The key responsibilities of the Sales & Marketing Director include:

  • To contribute to formulation of policy and strategy as a board member
  • Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information
  • Sales and profitability growth from 30 retail outlets
  • Sales and profitability growth from Corporate, Professional and Institutional Sales channels
  • Develop publisher and other commercial partnerships
  • Planning and managing sales and marketing resources according to agreed budgets
  • Recruit, manage, train and motivate direct reporting staff
  • Customer Communications and developing loyalty initiatives
  • Safeguarding and developing the brand corporate image and reputation
  • Select and manage external agencies & suppliers as appropriate
  • To execute the responsibilities of a company director
