JOB TITLE: PCV Driver / Tour Guide

LOCATION: Cruachan Visitor Centre

SALARY/RATE AND BENEFITS: £10 per hour + Holiday Pay

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING: UK Driving licence, PCV licence and Driver CPC card

COMPANY INFORMATION: Drax Power Ltd

Job Purpose Statement

• Carry out all duties required to deliver guided tours of Cruachan Power Station

• Assist in all areas of Cruachan Visitor Centre as required

Accountability Statements

• Engage with all visitors to the centre, delivering exceptional customer care at all times.

• Ensure visitor centre vehicles are inspected, maintained, cleaned and fuelled

• Deliver daily guided tours of Cruachan Power Station

• Ensure completion of daily vehicle maintenance sheets and drivers log

• Assist in reception, cafe and gift shop as required

• Assist with housekeeping duties, maintaining the visitor centre standards at all times

• Assist with the safety and welfare of visitors

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• PCV Licence and driver CPC card essential

• Excellent verbal communication and people skills

• Ability to naturally engage with a variety of visitors

• Experience in a customer interface and working within a small team environment

• Experience of Driving large vehicles

• Flexible in adapting to different situations

• Ability to learn and apply new skills efficiently

• Positive approach to change

• Knowledge of local area, attractions and places of interest

Planning & Organising

• Required to deal with customer issues efficiently and effectively ensuring exceptional customer service is provided

• Provide a safe environment for all staff and visitors, together with a pro-active approach to all health, safety and environmental matters.

• Dealing with complaints timorously and on occasion with hostile customers in a professional and sensitive manner, escalating to visitor centre manager as required

• Maintain excellent standards within the visitors centre & grounds

Minimum Criteria (mandatory)

• UK Driving licence, PCV licence and Driver CPC card

• Physical - capable of working in all visitor centre roles, cafe, reception, gift shop and tour guiding

• Disclosure Scotland Basic check
