Job Description:

Innovative. Customer Focused. Agile. Open and Engaging. Entrepreneurial. These are our key attitudes and the way we like to work at Saint-Gobain. If this sounds like you, please read on to find out more about the Electrical Maintenance Engineer opportunity.

This role is working with Industrial Ceramics in Rainford. Merseyside. Industrial Ceramics are market leaders in the design, development and production of engineered ceramics and refractory products for extreme operating conditions and high-temperature applications. We now have an opportunity to join the site, to work in a close-knit team of 3 engineers, to deliver electrical maintenance and support to the plant.

How will I utilise my expertise?

This Engineers role is for a particular type of person - someone who is able to work in a smaller team that supports and helps each other, can be multi-skilled, and isn't afraid to pick up a spanner and help their mechanical counterpart with mechanical maintenance from time-to-time. In this role you will;

Carry out Electrical Maintenance - both planned, preventative work and unscheduled, urgent electrical maintenance work

Support and manage the electrical aspect of several installations at any time

Be the stand-in support for mechanical maintenance in the absence of your mechanical maintenance engineer

Fault find, sometimes without the drawings, to resolve issues

Take drawings and apply to installations

What kind of person are you looking for?

First and foremost, we always want to recruit talented people that align well with our values and way of working. In addition to the five Saint-Gobain attitudes we shared at the start, suitability for the role is always key; does the following criteria sound like you?

A qualified Electrical Engineer

Capable and happy to turn your hand to Mechanical Maintenance too (could be 10% of the daily job)

Be comfortable working in an environment that doesn't have clear drawings ready for every panel, and be willing to help with creating them.

A team player, comfortable being the primary electrician on site and happy to pitch in and support your colleagues

Able to also work autonomously and fix issues, thinking for yourself.

The world of work is changing, and at Saint-Gobain we are open to new ways of working in order to attract talented people to our business. We understand that everyone has different needs and commitments. Therefore, we are very open to discuss any flexible requirement or need that you may have for this role. We can't guarantee to meet all requests for flexibility when we are recruiting. But, we promise to listen.

SAINT-GOBAIN ENCOURAGE AND WELCOME DIVERSE APPLICATIONS AND ARE COMMITED TO SUCCESS THROUGH OUR DIVERSE COLLEAGUE COMMUNITY. We're committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of ethnicity, colour, race, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, neurodiversity, taste in music, fashion sense or any other characteristic that makes you unique. If you have a disability or special need that requires support or adjustments to working or interview arrangements, please let us know.

On occasion we need to close advertisements earlier than expected, we therefore strongly encourage you to make your application promptly to avoid disappointment.

AGENCY? Please note that we have our own recruitment marketing and search functions alongside an already agreed set of agency partners and will not accept any third party CV's/Applications from anyone unless invited to do so. Saint-Gobain accepts no responsibility for any fees related to unsolicited resumes
