Import Export Manager - West Midlands - Logistics/Distribution

Salary C: £50K plus Car or Car Allowance

Our Client is a market leader in the Logistics Industry

The Role

As the Import & Export Manager you will support and advise customers on all international import / export requirements relating to their freight transiting and being delivered seamlessly, ensuring that we remain compliant at all times.

Responsibilities

· Have 3+ years' experience in an Import, Export and Customs Compliance role with exposure to both Air and Road operations.

· Fully conversant with import and export laws and regulation.

· An understanding and working knowledge of ITSF.

· Experience working with HMRC & Border Force to include CHIEF and CDS.

· A professional qualification in Customs Import/Export or International Trade.

Your team operate from 14:00pm - 03:00am each day which represents the peak operating window which at times includes weekends. You will be responsible for that team, you will manage your hours day by day within this window to the best needs of the business.

Skills and Experience

· Clear demarcations of where responsibilities and handovers exist between European Gateways and the UK/Ireland.

· Managing and maintaining control through all phases of freight lifecycle.

· Submission of reports to HMRC.

· Management and appraisal of staff.

· Ensure appropriate cover across the desk with the with the right level of staff.

· Remediation time per failed entry (hours/days).

· Clearances within agreed SLA.

· Clearances without manual intervention (%).

· Reconciliation between CONEX - ABS - CCS.

· Ownership for the reporting and transactional charging (import, export, screening, handling) between Operations and Finance...... click apply for full job details
