Job Description:

Position: Stairlift Engineer/Installer

Hours: 9 am to 5.30 pm, 5 days over 7 on a rota basis

Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £18,500 - £26,500 per annum, according to experience (circa £33k pa after applying generous bonus scheme)

Area: Derbyshire Area (based at DE14 2WF)

Ableworld is the country's leading retailer in the mobility and stairlift market and we are looking to appoint an additional Stairlift Installer/Fitter to support our current workforce in the Derbyshire and surrounding areas.The successful candidate will be someone who is looking to build a rewarding and successful career in the Stairlift field.We will offer full in-house training at our Head Office in Cheshire for the right candidate.

We are one provider who can do it all, tailoring our Stairlift training programme to suit the right applicant who will not only feel rewarded financially but feel a personal sense of reward as they make a difference to the independence of the elderly.

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be responsible for attending customer call-outs (for which a generous bonus is given if out of hours) for breakdowns and repairs together with scheduled visits for the installation, service and maintenance of stairlifts.

Ideal candidates will have some experience in the engineering or electrical area however, consideration will be given to a trainee with a good technical/mechanical aptitude.

You will be proactive and have:

  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Technical competence (or be willing to learn)
  • Some computer knowledge would be an advantage
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • A flexible, proactive and mature attitude to work

The hours of work will be 9 am to 5.30 pm 5 days over 7 per week on a rota basis along with out of hours call outs again, on a rota basis for which generous out of hours payments are given.


A full valid driving licence is essential for this role as a van will be provided along with a mobile phone, tablet and all the tools you need to carry out the job.

A DBS check will be required for which Ableworld will meet the cost.
