Hotel Night Receptionist

Our client is a lovely, independent family run hotel overlooking Hyde Park

We are currently recruiting for an experience Night Receptionist to join the front office team as this fabulous location.

Reporting to Front Office Supervisor you will ensure the night operation of the front desk is undertaken correctly and that guests experience is at the highest quality. You are the most guest facing role in the hotel and as such, crucial in delivering exceptional customer service at all times.

You will be working on a shift rota basis, up to 46 ¼ hours, five days a week. Early Shift 5.00 pm to 2.00am. Late shift 10.30pm to 9am as per the duty roster.

You will have two days off per week by arrangement with the hotel management, which will be confirmed in the front office working roster. During your shift, you will a meal break at time agreed by management to suit the needs of the hotel and its guests.

As Hotel Night Receptionist you may duties will be as follows:

  • To ensure every effort is made to meet guest needs, with all comments and complaints being actioned following procedures laid down by the Hotel policies and procedures.
  • Welcoming all guests and non residents in a friendly and inviting manner.
  • Complete guest card and cash payments and to take appropriate payment and records as necessary.
  • Develop local knowledge of the surrounding areas so as to be competent enough to recommend places of interest and to dine to the guest.
  • Ensure all access to the hotel is secure as required by hotel policy and procedure. Record any unusual occurrences or problems arising to the Duty Manager and take appropriate action
  • Assist with food and beverage service at the hotel when required.
  • Assist function and event department when required on shift.
  • Ensure that wake up calls are made promptly and correctly
  • Perform any related security duties as required overnight
  • To liase with all departments to ensure effective and efficient communication at all times.
  • To attend training and development courses and to assist in the training and development of all associates within your area of responsibility to ensure the hotel achieves five star standards of service.
  • Checking in and out hotel guests as per the hotels standard operating procedure.
  • Overseeing the hotel public spaces when on shift and notifying management of any issues as they arise.
  • Check cleanliness of the Hotel reception as well as public areas.
  • Dealing with general enquiries from hotel guests and non residents to the best of your ability.
  • Printing meal plan / boarding lists and provide to breakfast department
  • To undertake general administration duties as directed by management.
