The Launch Group working in partnership with Paddington Central are offering a unique opportunity through our Starting Out in Building Services programme, allowing candidates to develop essential experience and skills through a bespoke employment training programme helping candidates move towards employment within Receptionist Services at Paddington Central.

As an employment routeway you will gain hands on experience, develop key employment skills and gain qualifications in World Host Customer Service, Conflict Management and First Aid. In addition you will complete two weeks work experience to give you an insight into available roles.

We are looking for positive, can-do candidates who want to progress their career with hands-on experience. This opportunity will allow you to gain this experience alongside qualifications allowing you to prepare for a guaranteed interview and move towards sustainable employment.

The Role

The warm welcome from our reception team determines the first impressions clients and visitors have of our clients' business. The role of the Welcome Host is to ensure the highest level of client care and personal service to all stakeholders in the client's business which includes visitors, clients and internal stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm, courteous and prompt welcome on arrival for all visitors.
  • Issue visitor passes using the agreed process and procedures.
  • Handle all incoming telephone calls/enquiries promptly giving a warm, courteous welcome and using the agreed greeting.
  • Be reliable, flexible, honest and a strong advocate for the client.
  • Ensure that you are security conscious. Be aware of Penetration tests, Tailgating and ensure that all visitors have a host and that every visitor is verified by the relevant occupier and that they clearly display their visitor badge at all times.
  • Actively and positively engage with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless service experience.
  • Trouble shoot client and visitor problems using research and problem-solving skills.
  • Take ownership and responsibility ensuring you are working effectively and developing close relationships with your colleagues.
  • General administration duties
  • Carry out regular checks of all internal & welcome areas including lobby areas, coffee area around Central Working and Trend Micro and toilets to ensure all client areas remain clean & tidy
  • be comfortable working as part of a team.
