Job Description:

Scope of the Role

This is an office-based role to maintain and develop the relationship with the nominated strategic national retail accounts, increasing profitability through product range, channel development, execution and sharing best practices across the account base

Essential Experience

* Commercial and business acumen

* Previous FMCG/Retail experience - essential

* Previous experience in selling into major national retailers

* Strong negotiation skills in relation to pricing, terms and accruals

* Managing large turnover account(s) with extensive routes to market

* Team management experience

* Delivery of multi-channel marketing programs

* Commercial experience and negotiation through ownership: pricing, terms, accruals

* Brand management exposure

* Ecommerce fulfilment and marketing investment

Key Responsibilities

* Pro-active approach to Account Management to develop and achieve full account potential

* Fully understand the account and maintain strong relationships at all levels with the account, maintaining high levels of customer service, delivering to exceed expectations

* On-going market research to explore new business and channel opportunities

* Analyse stock in channel to ensure the most efficient use of working capital and minimise company exposure

* Ensure thorough communication internally, with other departments and also the team in relation to priorities and key tasks

* Ongoing development of relevant product knowledge

* Constantly monitoring processes internally and externally to pinpoint improvement opportunities

* Research and utilise business intelligence regarding competitor activity and business situations

* Manage activity in order to act in the most efficient and cost effective manner

* Generate and submit all reports, detailed contract reports and forecast on time - to a consistently high standard

* Work with the Marketing department to design, implement and evaluate a multi-channel marketing plan

* Oversee supply chain team to maintain stock in channel to agreed levels

* Brand Management and negotiation to include; identification of news brands, execution within the channel and support for the account through MSF

Team Management

* Direction and allocation of key activities and focus areas

* Maintain and review the Personal Development plans of all team members

* Recruiting; Initial stage and aiding with selection

* Information Technology - Understands current information technology and uses this knowledge to improve own performance.

* Analysis skills - Ability to apply financial analysis and problem solving techniques to data, combining logic, attention to detail and accuracy with a proactive questioning and lateral thinking approach.
