Job Role
We are a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants with an excellent reputation and a great team atmosphere. We are currently seeking Accounts and Audit Semi Senior to join our team. The firm is a general practice serving a varied portfolio of clients. The role would involve a mixture of professional work including accounts preparation, business and personal tax, bookkeeping and audits for a range of SME clients. The role is suitable for ACCA/ACA graduate or newly qualified ACCA with a good grounding in accounts preparation, business taxation and audit. Full working knowledge of IRIS software, Sage Line 50, Xero, QuickBooks and CCH Proaudit is essential but not necessary. Good communication skills, organisational skills and an enthusiastic approach are essential criteria for the candidates, as considerable client contact will be involved. The roles represent an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic ACCA/ACA graduate and trainee who can be a good team player.
Responsibilities
· Preparing accounts, corporation and personal tax returns / financial statements for a diverse variety of clients from sole traders to group companies.
This also includes incomplete records and computerised books:
· Maintaining accounts for clients to the required standard.
· Preparing statutory accounts.
· Assisting the team in carrying out audit work on a range of clients in accordance with internal procedures and
programs.
· Preparing management accounts for clients.
· Processing PAYE and submitting online VAT returns.
· Preparing personal and corporation tax computations.
· Dealing with client queries and liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
· Building up good working relationships with clients and colleagues and develop advisory skills over time.
· Working as part of a team as well as independently.
· Using initiative to solve problems or seek help/support where appropriate.
· Ensuring technical knowledge is kept up to date through research and attendance at courses.
Person Specification
• Able to demonstrate previous technical experience.
• Sound experience in audit and taxation work as a qualified or part qualified ACCA/ACA Trainee.
• Able to project a professional and credible image and maintain confidentiality.
• Confident communication skills (both orally and in writing) in order to work effectively with clients, managers, partners and colleagues.
• Good client handling skills.
• Able to plan workload in advance, priorities to optimise the effectiveness of own contribution
• Able to work under pressure of deadlines and cost budgets and be prepared to work as needed during the busy periods
• Computer literate and an experienced user of Microsoft Office
• Clean driving license
